Running the 2025 San Francisco 1st Half Marathon 🌁

2 weeks of prep. One not fully-healed foot. And 13.1 unforgettable miles over the Golden Gate Bridge. My goal: just finish. This is my raw, honest recap of running the San Francisco β€œ1st Bridge” Half Marathon. I only had 2 weeks of training after coming back from heel injury and being out 6 weeks prior. No perfect plan this time, just heart, hustle, and the drive to cross that finish line. Some cramps, but much joy. I’m grateful I still get to do this.

Last year, July 2024, I trained and ran the 1st Bridge Half of the San Francisco Marathon and was able to clock in a time of sub 2 hours (around 1:57). This motivated me to run more in 2025. And run more I did. What started off signing up for a half marathon at Disneyland, soon became another in Oakland, then another one in Oakland across the Bay Bridge, and capping off the year wouldd be my favorite half in San Francisco. My intention was to shave more minutes off my personal best, but sometimes life doesn’t work out so easily. Especially when it comes to running.

These are pictures of me finishing the 1st Bridge Half of the San Francisco Marathon (half marathon).

Time: 2 hours, 40 minutes and 21 seconds.

I was just so happy to finish. It made me realize i have a grit for running.
