Life of Pi.zza šŸ•

Pizza. It’s got to be without a doubt, my favorite food. Hand-tossed dough, loads of marinara sauce, and extra cheese. I guess I really like the idea of what a pizza is. Which is all of those good ingredients coming together to make something greater than itself. That’s a pizza. A pizza I can eat. And oh the number of slices I can eat!

I eat pizza every year for my birthday. It’s become somewhat of a tradition of mine. Not only because of how happy my tummy feels while eating pizza, but because eating pizza reminds me that although things are changing, there are things that stay the same. Like, a pizza will always be a pizza. There may be differences on how it’s made, but a pizza will always be at its heart dough, sauce, and cheese. That’s what makes a pizza a pizza. And I’ll definitely continue to eat pizza – in all its final forms.

LikeĀ Round Table Pizza. I remember my first bite into a slice of the chicken garlic gourmet. It was so damn good. Crispy crust combined with the garlic and chicken and green onions dancing on my tongue. Yum! I can also remember scarfing down slices ofĀ The McKinleyĀ atĀ Mountain Mike’s. I’d go through half of a large pizza and still want one. More. Slice. Oh, and the deep-crust pizza atĀ Patxi’sĀ is super yummy. Don’t forget about the honey on the crust. Because that’s dessert! Even robotic technology has reached the pizza world.Ā Zume PizzaĀ (pictured above, but sadly now closed) is was a place where human and robotics get together to make a delicious pizza pie. And let’s not forget the artisanal pizzerias likeĀ FiorellaĀ andĀ PiccinoĀ in San Francisco, with their thin-crust masterpieces baked in a brick oven. It’s so good!
